DPS Superintendent Susana Cordova Resigns From Position

On Friday afternoon (November 13), Susana Cordova announced that she would be resigning from her position as superintendent of Denver Public Schools.

According to Fox 31, Cordova accepted a position as the deputy superintendent of Leading and Learning with the Dallas Independent School District.

"Thank you for your support over the last two years as we have weathered many challenges but also seen great success," said Cordova in a statement. "I'm so proud of how Team DPS and the entire community comes together - no matter how high the hill - to lift up our schools and our children."

Cordova has served as superintendent since she was appointed in December of 2018. Prior to the promotion, she spent nearly 30 years in various positions around the school district.

"I am sad to be leaving Denver, but I will be eternally grateful to everyone I have worked with and learned from over the past decades," she continued. "I will work with the Board and the senior-leadership team over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition, and I want you to know that Denver will forever be home to me."
