Over 300 people who attended a wedding near Ritzville, Washington last week may have been exposed to coronavirus, KING 5 reported.
The Grant County Health District urged attendees to get tested for COVID-19 after several people tested positive. They also asked attendees to self-quarantine through Saturday, November 21. Officials added that the wedding was held in a private location.
So far, health officials linked 17 coronavirus cases to the wedding, and more are being added daily. They are also notifying the general public because with the number of attendees, local health jurisdictions are unlikely to reach all of them.
This news comes before the week of Thanksgiving, where Gov. Jay Inslee has asked people planning to join family members to quarantine before the holiday. He also rolled out new coronavirus restrictions on social gatherings and certain businesses. State officials are aiming to curb the spread of the novel virus a reported spike in cases.
"Wedding ceremonies in Washington are limited to a total of no more than 30 people and, starting Monday, indoor receptions or similar gathering in conjunction with the ceremony are prohibited," according to KING 5.
