With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, many people are gearing up to travel and visit family. While health officials do not encourage this behavior, and indoor gatherings are still limited to 10 people, they believe anyone planning on attending gatherings should get a coronavirus test before doing so.
In addition to the COVID-19 testing sites already in place around Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, a new site will be added at Bojangles' Coliseum. Starting Friday, November 20, the site will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on East Independence Boulevard.
Other testing sites include:
- NW Clinic: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 2845 Beatties Ford Road
- Target University City: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, November 20 through Sunday, November 22
- Urgent Care Facilities: locations may vary
- Primary Care Offices
- CVS/Walgreens: locations may vary
According to WCNC, the increase in those being tested means the time it takes to receive results will take longer. Health officials said it may take around two to three days to get results.
Anyone traveling around North Carolina will now be able to see counties' level of cases with the new alert system introduced by Gov. Roy Cooper on Monday Tuesday (November 17). Health officials continue to encourage everyone to wear masks, keep distance between others outside your household, and increase hand washing in order to slow the spread of the virus.
