A local Massachusetts police department shared a strange mugshot of a man accused of threatening officers last week.
Joseph Castro Del Rio, 33, of Watertown, was charged with criminal threatening and resisting arrest, the Manchester New Hampshire Police Department announced on its Facebook account Thursday (November 20). In the post, the department includes Del Rio's mugshot, which shows him with a beard only on half of his face, as well as extremely large curly hair.
The department said it responded to a report at the Hillsborough Superior Court at Chestnut Street for crowd control. The New Hampshire State Police were already at the scene and moving homeless people from the courthouse grounds.
A trooper was attempting to arrest a man, later identified as Del Rio, and a large crowd formed around the area where the man was being detained. Manchester officers assisted in blocking the crowd from getting closer to the trooper.
Del Rio was reportedly screaming into a microphone, lifted his right foot and kicked toward an officer in "an aggressive manner" and did the same to another officer, according to the department. Once police told him he was under arrest, Del Rio reportedly ran down the street and was cornered by other Manchester officers, leading to a brief struggle before he was taken into custody.
