'TriMet Barber' Accused Of Taking Photo Of Woman In Portland Mall Bathroom

A man dubbed the "TriMet Barber" was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday (November 24) after he allegedly took a photo of a person using a mall bathroom in Portland, KATU reported.

Court documents show 33-year-old Jared Walter allegedly used a cell phone to take photos or videos of a person while they were using a restroom in Lloyd Center Mall on November 14. The victim confronted Walter after they saw the camera phone, but he ran off. Officials also said Walter is a convicted sex offender.

Walter was detained by a bystander until authorities arrived, according to documents. This incident also violated Walter's probation, his probation officer said.

The 33-year-old gained some notoriety for cutting women's hair on TriMet buses and trains. "He is currently pending trial on a separate case where he is accused of touching a woman at a Portland hospital," KATU wrote.

According to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, Walter was charged with first-degree invasion of privacy, first-degree attempted invasion of personal privacy, second-degree invasion of personal privacy, and second-degree disorderly conduct.

On Monday (November 23), the Department of Justice announced that a former corrections officer pleaded guilty to charges after he allegedly smuggled in drugs and had sex with an inmate at a women's prison in Clackamas County.
