Youtuber Fractures Skull After Jumping Off Austin Bridge In Viral Video

A man is lucky to be alive after jumping off the top of the Pennybacker Bridge in Austin for a viral YouTube video.

Saa Emmanuel Fomba uploaded the video of him jumping on November 23 after being released from the hospital for a fractured skull caused by his dangerous stunt.

“Hopefully this video will motivate you to chase after your dreams,” Fomba says in the video while driving to the bridge. "... Many people have dreams. They never follow them or chase them. ... I'm afraid of jumping off of this bridge, but what's the point of living a normal life?"

Fomba managed to convince a woman near the bridge to film. It takes him a few minutes, but Fomba is able to climb the arc of the bridge without any ropes or safety equipment.

After a quick count down, Fomba jumps and splashes into the Colorado River below. It takes a few seconds before he resurfaces. An unknown boater fishes Fomba out of the water and takes him back to dry land.

Someone did call 911 for Fomba, who was taken to St. David's South Austin Medical Center, CBS Austin reported.

Youtube commenters were quick to criticize Fomba for his recklessness and call him a bad influence.

"Bro I am sorry but this is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. You could’ve died so so easily. Please be safe," wrote Jesse Heffels.

"This video is really disturbing and irresponsible. Telling people to not live a boring life and follow their dreams while encouraging them to basically jump to their deaths...is not it. You got lucky. Most who try probably wouldn't," wrote Madeline Dell.
