The Denver Depart of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) announced on Wednesday (December 2) that it will be loosening its previous restrictions regarding alcohol sales and delivery.
The reduced restrictions will go into effect immediately.
The latest public health order allows liquor stores to stay open and deliver alcohol until midnight, according to 9NEWS. Restaurants will also be allowed to deliver alcohol to customers until 2:00 A.M.
The previous public health order required restaurants and liquor stores to stop alcohol deliveries until 10:00 P.M., according to DDPHE spokesperson Tammy Vigil.
Officials say the new restrictions have been updated "to more closely align with state rules."
In November Mayor Michael Hancock and Governor Jared Polis announced that many counties, including Denver, would be moving to the new COVID-19 dial Level Red.
Level Red's restrictions targeted mostly restaurants, bars, and other businesses.
Indoor dining is currently closed but outdoor seating remains open. Last call for restaurants and bars is 8:00 P.M. and outdoor alcohol consumption must cease at 10:00 P.M.
