A driver tried getting creative when his car was missing a headlight in Washington state. It didn't work out for him.
Early Monday morning (November 30), a Washington State Patrol trooper spotted the driver's car on I-90 near North Bend, according to KOMO. Officials said the trooper described the vehicle "extremely dim headlights" before conducting a traffic stop on the driver.
That's when the trooper found out there were large flashlights duct-taped to where the headlights would normally be on the vehicle.
"The car appears to have had significant prior front-end damage and was missing the original headlight lamps," reporters said. On top of that, the flashlights were dim because the batteries were dying. WSP's Rick Johnson said using flashlights as headlights were not legal, adding the driver was also on the road with a suspended license. Things did not go according to plan.
Speaking of driving, Washington state ranked pretty high among the worst drivers in America, according to an insurance company. Last month, Pierce County deputies found a mobile home illegally dumped on the side of the road.
