TX Man Accused Of Robbing Pizza Hut With Paintbrush Disguised As Gun

A man accused of robbing a San Antonio Pizza Hut said that he used a paintbrush that was disguised as a gun while taking money from the restaurant. This is according to San Antonio police.

Jacob Matthew Garza was charged with robbery following the incident.

Garza went into the establishment with a baby blue hoodie around his face. He then went to the register and told the employees that he "needed" the money, KSAT reports.

According to investigators, Garza then pulled an unknown object form his waist while demanding the money.

An employee thought the object was a gun and opened the register to give him the cash.

An officer found a man at a nearby gas station that matched the description.

According to SAPD, the officer asked the man if he had been criminally trespassing at the gas station "to avoid a potentially dangerous confrontation."

The man was later identified as Garza. He was handcuffed and arrested without incident.

According to the police, Garza confessed to the robbery and to using a paintbrush to make it look like a gun.

Garza's bond was set at $50,000.
