Beyonce Shows Love To Chloe x Halle During Billboard Women In Music Event

Beyoncé made a surprise appearance during Billboard's 2020 Women in Music event to present her Parkwood signees Chloe x Halle with the Rising Star Award.

During the special, which aired on Thursday night (December 10) and hosted by Teyana Taylor, the pop titan, 39, appeared at the annual affair to honor her signees. "Ladies, I am so, so proud of you. You've done this with authenticity, with grace, with raw talent and you've managed to shine in every room you enter and I always love you," Bey told the singing-sister duo, before introducing the pair, "Please give it up to my girls."

Afterward, Chloe x Halle appeared in matching black ensembles to send their thanks to God and their family. "None of this happens without family. They are our foundation," Halle said, before Chloe listed off the many ways in which their family has helped them in their artistry and rise to fame. "Because of this, we want to give our biggest thank you to our beautiful family for loving us through it all. We can never repay you."

As for Bey, the pair had the utmost respect for their idol. "When it comes to her, we are filled with nothing but extreme gratitude," Chloe told the viewers. "She saw something in us both, two young black girls with short little locks passionately singing their hearts out at home for the world to see." Elsewhere during the broadcast, the sister duo performed the appropriately fitting "Baby Girl" off their latest album, Ungodly Hour.

Among the other honorees at the ceremony included Cardi B (Woman of the Year), Dolly Parton (Hitmaker Award), Dua Lipa (Powerhouse Award), Jennifer Lopez (Icon Award) and Jessie Reyez (Impact Award), as well as Executives of the Year Brianna Agyemang and Jamila Thomas, the executives behind this year's #TheShowMustBePaused social justice initiative.
