Florida Man Finds Dead Body In Trash Can He Was Holding For Friend

A Florida man was holding a trash can for a friend, but he wasn't prepared for its horrifying contents. According to NBC Miami, the friend promised the unidentified man he would come back for the 55-gallon trash can later. Authorities said he never returned.

Two months later, the man, who lives in the 5000 block of Windmill Manor Lane in Bradenton, started smelling a foul odor and opened the trash can. That's when he found a wrapped-up, decomposing body inside the container when he opened it, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said they're investigating the identity of the remains and how they died. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday (December 9), but no results have been released yet. Officials have not named a suspect at this time, too.

Back in October, Maryland authorities found a dead body in a parking lot. Initially, it was believed to be a Halloween decoration. A skull sitting on a fireplace mantle in a home was identified as a missing Tennessee man. Almost a year ago in Oregon, high school students found a dead body during a school project.
