This Is The Most Popular Christmas Treat In California

Christmas is quickly approaching and festivities will certainly look different this year.

Even though many things will be different about the holiday, we can still make the season bright by indulging in Christmas sweets and treats.

The career website Zippia decided to analyze Google Trends to determine which Christmas treats were the most popular in each state.

In states where two or more desserts were tied, the one with the highest search volume was chosen to represent the state.

They examined over 40 classic Christmas treats like candy stocking stuffers, peppermint candies, and various holiday cakes.

The most popular Christmas treat in California is peppermint chocolate chip cookies, according to the data.

California's favorite wasn't as popular as some of the other options on the map. The only other state to also have peppermint chocolate chip cookies as their favorite treat was Texas.

While it may not be the most common Christmas treat, it was certainly more traditional than some of the other state's choices.

For example, Utah's favorite Christmas treat is listed as Jolly Ranchers, Washington's was Skittles, Alaska's was M&M's, and Iowa's was Oreo balls.

Nine states had cheesecake as their favorite Christmas treat including Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, and Oklahoma.
