Drone Crashes Into Allegiant Stadium, Causes $10K In Damage

A wayward drone crashed into Allegiant Stadium last month and caused thousands of dollars worth of damages.

Metro Police are now looking for the man who flew the drone into one of the stadium's panels on November 21. Security footage shows a man asking for the drone back, but security refused to hand it over.

The man drove off in a rented black BMW X3.

The damaged a panel that was 80-100 feet above the ground, KLAS reported. Stadium officials estimated the damage is worth between $5,000 to $8,000, but police rounded that up to $10,000.

The unidentified man is facing charges for destruction of property and unlawful operation of a drone.

The Las Vegas Raiders and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas football team play at Allegiant, but the 65,000-seat stadium has been empty lately. No fans have been allowed at Raiders home games while UNLV was allowed to have 2,000 fans at a handful of games.

Both the NFL and the college team played crowd noises to make the games sound more lively and like a pre-pandemic football game.
