Lisa Vanderpump’s pet Pomeranian, Giggy, has sadly passed away.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star took to social media on Saturday (December 12) to break the heartbreaking news to fans.
“We are devastated to say that our beloved Giggy has passed away this morning,” the 60-year-old captioned a series of posh photos of the pup. “He was truly loved, and we know how many of you loved him too.”
The restaurateur continued, “Our sweet Gigolo was such an incredible, unique dog, but mainly, because of him, we started The Vanderpump Dog Foundation and embarked on our mission to save as many dogs as possible. He inspired us to start our work in rescue, and for that we will always be grateful. Giggy’s legacy will live on, through every dog @vanderpumpdogs saves. Thank you all for your support. Rest In Peace Giggy, we love you. – Ken & Lisa.”
She later tweeted, "It has been an awful year, no doubt about it... My little furry man just passed...My heart is broken. So much loss, in so many ways. But we will get through this together, have courage in the face of adversity. Love to you all. Goodnight."
Lisa’s husband, Tom Schwartz, and Bravo’s Andy Cohen were among the hundreds to leave messages of love and pay remembrance to Giggy.
“RIP Giggy you were loved [by] many and brought so much joy to the world,” wrote Tom, as Cohen added, “Giggy was the First Dog of Bravo. Truly love at first sight for the cutest pup we’d ever seen. RIP beautiful Gigolo.”
The Vanderpump’s beloved fur baby was popular not only for his appearances on the reality show but Giggy also amassed tens of thousands of followers on his very own Twitter and Instagram. Giggy, who suffered hair loss as a result of alopecia, compensated for his condition by modeling various high-fashion puppy wear on and offscreen.
