Colorado Family Kicked Off United Flight After Toddler Refuses To Wear Mask

A Colorado was asked to leave their plane when their small child would not put on a face mask.

The Breckenridge family was on a United Airlines flight from Denver to Newark, New Jersey on Friday, December 11 when the incident occurred, according to FOX31.

In a video posted to Instagram and Youtube, the mother of the 2-year-old, Eliz Fulop, shows her husband struggling to put the mask over her face.

Shortly after, a flight attendant comes up to them and asks them to leave the plane.

"We just got kicked off a flight because our 2-year-old would not wear a mask," says Fulop in the video.

Fulop told FOX31 she began recording after the pilot mentioned passengers were going to be removed from the flight for not complying with their mask policy.

She told the employee that they had flown four times during the summer and had not had any issues.

All persons 2 years and older are recommended to wear face masks in public according to health and safety guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Fulp says the experience was humiliating.

"Very confused," she said. "Almost disgusted with myself for having to do that to my daughter."

In a statement to local news sites, United says the family is not banned from the airline.

"We are investigating this specific incident and have made contact with the family. We also refunded their tickets and returned their car seat and bags."
