Texas Bus Driver Transforms School Bus Into 'Polar Express'

A bus driver in Silsbee, Texas, used her creativity to get her students in the holiday spirit.

Beverly Ketchum transformed her school bus into the the Polar Express, the magical train that takes kids to the North Pole to visit Santa. Strings of Christmas lights and garlands are strung on the bus' ceiling while stockings and shiny baubles hang throughout.

The Silsbee Independent School District really makes the bus sound like a true Christmas delight, too: "When you take a step inside, you will definitely feel the vibe of the holidays, as the twinkling of the lights sparkle your eyes while you catch a glimpse of Rudolph and Santa hanging on the rafters."

Ketchum completes the look by dressing up as a train conductor and her long brown beard doubles as a face mask.

She can't drive students to the North Pole, but Ketchum makes special trips for some of the district's younger students. She puts on a story time for small groups of students from the local elementary and primary schools. After reading the "Polar Express," Ketchum takes them on a short bus ride to complete the adventure.
