Carrie Underwood's husband went above and beyond for the country star's Christmas gift this year.
Earlier this month, the former NHL player, Mike Fisher, attended a cattle auction where he bought two cows for Underwood as an early Christmas present. "@carrieunderwood wanted cows for Christmas," he wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. "Merry Christmas Babe!"
In a recent interview with ET Canada, the "Love Wins" singer discussed the unique gift, revealing it's exactly what she was hoping for.
"He got me cows, which is what I wanted," Underwood said. "They're my favorite animal. I love them, they make me so happy."
She went on to clarify, "I don't want them for any purpose, just to love them."
As a first-time cow buyer, Fisher wasn't quite sure how to go about it at the auction. "He slapped some Wranglers on and put his hat on," Underwood said of her husband, adding, "And he was at the sale two days later."
During the auction, it seems that Fisher was a bit overwhelmed due to the speed at which the auctioneers spoke. "He said 'I don't know what happened, I think we got females, I'm not sure,'" Underwood explained. "'We just raised our little paddle a couple times and next thing you know they're loading up two cows to bring home.'"
Despite the initial confusion, Underwood confirms that her husband did in fact bring home two female cows. Several days after the cows arrived at the family's farm, Underwood and Fisher's 5-year-old son, Isaiah, decided to name them.
"My son named them Brownie and Oreo because one's brown and one is black and white," the country star previously revealed.
In addition to the cows, the family also currently has three dogs, two horses, and multiple chickens. Looking ahead, the Fisher family hopes to welcome even more animals to their farm.
"I think our next [animal] is going to be donkeys because they're good to have as far as, like, coyotes go on the farm, so I think that's probably our next thing on the list," Underwood said, adding, "And I feel like we can just keep getting more and more chickens!"
