Eminem Releases Surprise Sequel Album To 'Music To Be Murdered By'

Eminem surprised fans with an extended edition of his eleventh studio album, Music to Be Murdered By.

On Friday (December 18), the Detroit rapper unveiled Music to Be Murdered BySide B Deluxe Edition, which arrives nearly a year after dropping January’s original LP. The deluxe version of Shady’s LP features a star-studded lineup of heavy-hitting collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign (“Favorite B**ch), Dr. Dre and Sly Pyper (“Guns Blazing”), Skylar Grey (“Black Magic”), MAJ (“These Demons”), DJ Premier (“Book of Rhymes”), and White Gold (“Zeus”).

To accompany the record's release, Eminem unveiled the music video for his new song, "GNAT." (Watch it below.)

Overall, Shady’s latest drop features an additional 16 new songs to accompany the original’s 20-track lineup, which initially featured Anderson .Paak, Ed Sheeran, Young M.A, and many others. Side B follows the same no promo blueprint as its original, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 279,000 equivalent album units pushed in its first week.

In speaking on the concept of MTBMB with Genius earlier this year, Eminem revealed he was inspired by an old beat created by executive producer, Dre, that samples Alfred Hitchcock.

“I started thinking like, ‘Yo that whole concept is crazy, Music to be Murdered By,’” the 48-year-old told the outlet. “I wonder if I could play off this whole Alfred Hitchcock thing. And then Dre started hitting me with ideas and was like, ‘Yo you need to listen to this album that he has.’ So he sent me the link to that. I started listening, and I was like, ‘Yo, I could base this whole album off that.’”
