St. Louis Police: Woman Assaulted A Deputy Who Asked Her To Wear A Mask

Authorities are on the lookout for a woman accused of hitting a sheriff’s deputy with a baton after he told her she couldn’t enter a gas station unless she wore a mask.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released footage and images of the woman on Monday (December 28), following the alleged assault on Christmas Day (December 25). It happened at a Shell Gas Station on North Tucker Boulevard.

The deputy was working security at the station where the woman entered without wearing a mask, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The woman “became belligerent when the victim informed the suspect that the suspect could not enter the business without a mask.”

The woman pushed the deputy while exiting the gas station “and then began striking the victim with a closed fist,” the department continued. “The suspect took the victim’s baton and then struck the victim, causing a concussion.”

The woman fled the scene in a red vehicle and the victim declined medical attention when EMS responded, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Officials are still investigating the incident.

Those with information should call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477) or a 4th District Detective at 314-444-2500.
