Chandler Police Donate Wallet, $200 To Boy Who Had His Stolen At Walmart

A 6-year-old boy who had his wallet stolen at a Chandler Walmart now has a new one thanks to the Chandler Police.

Three patrol teams donated money to buy the boy a new wallet and replace the $200 he lost. The police department on Facebook also thanked local businesses and community members who contacted them to help the child.

Police are still investigating what happened on December 30 when the boy lost his money.

According to authorities, the boy and his mother were at a local Walmart when he dropped his wallet. The wallet contained around $200, which was Christmas and birthday money that the boy saved.

Surveillance cameras show a woman picking up the wallet. She made no effort to return the wallet or locate its owner, which led police to consider the incident a theft.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic woman that is about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 150 pounds. She was wearing a gray hooded jacket, black pants, and a light-colored face mask. She was with another woman and possibly a teenager at the time.

The suspect left the scene in a two-door black sedan with custom rims.
