The Girl Scout cookies will be available this coming season, and selling them will be different some parts of South Florida.
The COVID-19 pandemic means tables set up outside most of the usual locations won't be happening this year, according to Fl Keys News. To reduce the spread of the novel virus, there are various ways to get your hands on some cookies this year.
One method are Digital Cookie, which has been around for years.
“Digital Cookie is the way girls can run their very own online cookie business and has been a platform since 2014,” said Chelsea Wilkerson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida. “Girls create their own Digital Cookie site and share their personal link with their friends and family — supervised by an adult. Customers have the option to have cookies shipped, donate cookies to our Hometown Heroes program, and for local customers they can use the Girl Delivery option.”
The Girl Delivery option has a Girl Scout or her parent and guardian do contactless delivery. It's also free. Cookies shipped normally will have a shipping fee. Digital Cookie also has an app where you can make your orders and pay with debit or credit cards.
Girl Scout cookies go on sale starting this Saturday (January 9) through February 15. Broward County is under the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, which means their season doesn't start until February 18.
