A Houston woman risked her life to get back a $10,000 bulldog puppy that was stolen from a specialty pet store.

Alize James was working at Bully Kamp on November 4 when a couple came into the store to look at dogs. James told the Houston Chronicle that the couple was aggressive and determine to get a dog.

James showed the couple of 7-month-old exotic bully named Chica and valued at $10,000. When James left the couple with the puppy because a UPS driver showed up, the couple picked up Chica and left.

James ran after the dog snatchers who were heading to their car. She yelled at the couple to return the dog when they tried to hit James with their car.

“Next time I heard the gas go, he went very aggressively and it (the bumper) kind of like slapped me on top of the car,” James told KPRC.

Video shared by Houston media outlets show James clinging to to the hood of the car as the couple continues to drive.

“They were weaving, driving recklessly, and I could barely hold on. I was so scared,” James said.

After about 10 minutes, the couple stopped the car and started beating up James. They threw James to the ground and drove off with the dog.

Houston authorities identified and arrested Royshana King, the woman accused of taking Chica. On Wednesday, King was charged with aggravated robbery involving a deadly weapon in connection to the November incident.
