If you're in the New England and looking for the perfect Valentine's Day getaway, you won't have to look very far.
Three New England towns ranked among the 30 best Valentine's Day getaways in America, according to Country Living.
Bar Harbour, Maine ranked No. 6; Provincetown, Massachusetts, ranked No. 11; Willimantic, Connecticut ranked No. 27; and Kennebunkport, Maine ranked No. 30 on the list.
The publication said it intended to inspire those unable to travel far due to COVID-19 restrictions looking to make romantic holiday plans within short driving distances.
Bar Harbour was credited for its hiking and exploring spots, as well as Bar Harbor Inn Spa, which Country Living credited as the "perfect place to 'relax and rejuvenate.'" Provincetown, was included for its bed and breakfast spots, as well as offering visitors the chance to stroll "the empty beaches or visiting local galleries and shops.”
Willimantic, a former mill town, holds an annual Cupid Contest to honor residents who show the most love for the community, as well as a Chocolate Festival on the weekend of Valentine's Day. Kennebunkport was credited by Country Living for living up to its montra, "the place to be all year," offering attractions during the winter months, despite being more popular for spring and summer trips.
Nantucket's Greydon House also ranked No. 28 among Country Living's most romantic hotels in the U.S. this Valentine's Day.
