Here's How To Request An At-Home COVID-19 Test Kit In Wisconsin

People in Wisconsin can begin administering at-home COVID-19 tests.

“The State of Wisconsin and Vault Medical Services have teamed up to offer a new COVID-19 testing option for everyone who lives in Wisconsin, with or without symptoms, at no cost,” according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. “This new service allows people to collect their own saliva samples for testing in their home. The capacity is expected to expand over time.”

The state has ordered more than 12,000 at-home COVID-19 test kits and more than 1,600 were returned last week, Wisconsin Department of Health Services spokeswoman Traci DeSalvo confirmed to the Associated Press.

When conducting at-home COVID-19 tests, a supervisor on Zoom monitors the patient as they collect a saliva sample to be mailed for testing. Testing kits must be dropped off at a UPS drop-off location.

Results typically take about 48 to 72 hours, according to the AP.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has reported more than 542,400 confirmed cases of more than 2.9 million total people tested as of Tuesday (January 19), the latest data available.
