Matt James Responds To Viral Video Of His Friend Body-Shaming Victoria

Victoria Larson is one of the most controversial contestants on the current season of The Bachelor. The self-proclaimed "queen" of Matt James' season has sparked a number of debates both on and off-screen, however, not all of them have been kind.

In a video posted to the @bachelornation.scoop Instagram account, one of Matt's friends body-shames Victoria. The comments, which were made Matt's friend Jerry, were made in an attempt to distract Matt as he plays a round of golf. While Matt is putting, Jerry can be heard saying: "Now how was Victoria's body? 'Cause when I look at her, it doesn't look very nice … and you've been making out with this woman."

Matt's face isn't visible in the video, so, his reaction in the moment in unknown. The only thing he can be heard saying during the clip is to ask for someone to "pull the pin" so he can putt.

The video quickly went viral, with members of Bachelor Nation calling out Matt and Jerry. Matt finally addressed the situation and condoned Jerry's comments during an appearance on The Real. "That's not my character and that's not what I'm about. It's a shame that that's even associated with what was going on," Matt said on Thursday (January 28). "I apologize on his behalf. I don't know if you'll get it from him, but that's not something I support or stand for."

"It's just a constant reminder that you need to be smart about the people you surround yourself with," Matt continued. "Those moments when you're in sports and people are trying to say things to you to throw things off your game, it's sad that someone would think saying something like that about a woman that I was dating would deter me from what I was trying to do."

"I said something to him off-camera about it. Something along the lines of, 'Victoria wouldn't have given him a second look,'" Matt revealed. "It's always the pot calling the kettle black. Who is he to comment on someone's body? It's such a low blow for any man to try and take a dig at something like that."

Victoria coyly addressed the situation on Instagram, as well, by sharing a series of bikini photos. "Y’all [are] too much," she wrote alongside a cry-laughing emoji.
