Police Shut Down Meet-And-Greet With Maluma After Crowds Gather In Wynwood

Hundreds of people came out to see a famous Colombian singer on Tuesday (February) in South Florida, but the event didn't last long.

NBC Miami reported that Maluma was in Wynwood area of Miami to promote his upcoming album 7 Días en Jamaica, or 7DJ. Fans got word via Instagram that the singer will be making an appearance at a gallery in the area, so they rushed out for a chance to see him.

Reporters said Maluma was posing and snapping selfies with fans as he stood through the sunroof of a vehicle. Dozens of cheering people crowded around the vehicle to grab their own photos, as well.

Police eventually arrived to shut down the event because it violated COVID-19 emergency orders, according to reporters. A photo captured by a NBC Miami reporter shows a police car coming through the area while people line sidewalks and the streets.
