With Valentine's Day around the corner and February considered one of the most romantic months of the year, many couples in love may be planning their future together. While planning a wedding can be exciting and stressful, one of the most important decisions is finding the best place to say "I do."
If you're having a difficult time deciding on a venue, a new study by WalletHub comparing more than 180 cities across the country could help you determine the best place to get married. Several cities in Tennessee made the cut, with one coming just shy of the top 20.
Here are the Tennessee cities that made the list:
- Knoxville (22)
- Chattanooga (41)
- Memphis (55)
- Nashville (119)
Knoxville ranked seventh in terms of wedding costs followed by Memphis in ninth and Chattanooga in 12th for the same category.
According to the study, the top 10 cities to get married are:
- Orlando, Florida
- Fayetteville, North Carolina
- Austin, Texas
- Portland, Oregon
- Charleston, West Virginia
- Kansas City, Missouri
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Vancouver, Washington
- Tampa, Florida
- San Francisco, California
To determine the list, WalletHub compared 182 cities using three factors: costs, facilities and services, and safety. These factors were then evaluated using 20 relevant metrics, including average wedding costs; restaurant meal costs; wedding chapels, churches and venues per capita; event planners per capita; bridal shops per capita; cake shops per capita; average COVID-19 cases and deaths in the past week per capita; and more.
