Wisconsinites are no strangers to brutal winter weather, and they should brace for continued single-digit temperatures — or lower — and another batch of snow.
Forecasters predict a few more inches of snow Thursday afternoon and night (February 11), with more on the way Friday (February 12) and Saturday (February 13), according to the Madison State Journal. Wind chills are expected to drop to 25 to 35 below zero over the weekend.
“Light snow will likely result in slippery roads later today into tonight, with accumulations of 1 to 2 inches expected,” according to the National Weather Service. “Wind chills will likely drop again to 10 below to 20 below zero later tonight.”
From Friday (February 12) through Wednesday (February 17), Wisconsin can expect “very cold temperatures and frigid wind chills,” which is “expected to continue the remainder of this week and this weekend, with the potential for more wind chill advisories, particularly over the weekend,” the National Weather Service continued. “Light is likely again Friday night into Saturday, with another inch or two resulting in snow covered roads to start the weekend.”
The area is slated to experience two “disturbances” moving through for the next several days, NBC 15 noted. Sunday (February 14) is on track to be the coldest day of the weekend.
Last week, parts of Wisconsin — including Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties — experienced so many inches of snowfall that the National Weather Service confirmed it was “more snow than we’ve seen in a decade.”
