On the heels of an ice storm in West Tennessee and frigid temps in Middle Tennessee, the state is set to experience another winter storm during the weekend. The winter weather could bring as much as half a foot of snow to some areas of Tennessee still recovering from this week.
On Sunday night (February 14), a winter storm is expected to hit Middle Tennessee, bringing freezing rain, sleet, and snow into Monday morning. WSMV reports that even more rain and wintry mix will fall on the area through the day before eventually turning to snow Monday night. Nashville could expect to see between 1 to 2 inches of snow Tuesday before clearing out.
In Memphis, a wintry mix is expected throughout Sunday, but as temperatures continue to drop during the evening, the area could see a significant amount of snow by Monday. According to WMC, Memphis could see between 3 and 6 inches of snow, with some areas likely receiving even more.
Earlier this week, a winter storm made its way through Memphis, bringing down power lines and trees throughout the city that are still being cleaned up. According to WREG, on Thursday (February 11), around 10,000 Memphis, Gas and Water customers were left without power.
