Tom Brady had already solidified himself as the "greatest of all-time" among quarterbacks even prior to his record seventh Super Bowl victory last Sunday (February 7.)
Now the question is: where does Brady rank among athletes in all sports?
BetOnline created a G.O.A.T. map of the United States gathering geotagged Twitter data during the last week, tracking more than 130,000 tweets, including hashtags and direct keyword phrases, regarding which athlete fans considered to be the greatest ever, CBS Boston reports.
According to the data, Brady was considered the G.O.A.T. of all athletes in 20 of the 50 U.S. states which, unsurprisingly, included most of New England -- where the quarterback spent his first 20 NFL seasons -- and Florida.
The 20 states include: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Florida, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina, Michigan, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Alaska.
Connecticut was the only New England state that didn't claim Brady as its G.O.A.T. option, instead opting for Serena Williams, who holds 23 tennis grand slam titles. Williams also claimed Minnesota, Washington and Maryland.
Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan unsurprisingly owned Illinois -- where he spent the majority of his NBA career playing for the Chicago Bulls -- and five neighboring states in the midwest, as well as Utah, Alabama, Arkansas, New York -- where he was born -- and North Carolina, where he grew up and spent his collegiate career playing for the UNC Tar Heels.
Los Angles Lakers star LeBron James, who won four championships for three NBA teams, claimed 11 states, which included his native Ohio, as well as Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, New Jersey, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Hawaii.
Several other quarterbacks were selected in state's where they spent the majority of their legendary careers including Peyton Manning in Indiana, Aaron Rodgers in Wisconsin, Joe Montana in California and John Elway in Colorado.
Brady finished Sunday's game with 201 yards and three touchdowns on 21 of 29 passing, winning a record fifth Super Bowl MVP Award, which surpassed his own previous record set in Super Bowl LI (2017.)
The victory was Brady's first as a member of the Buccaneers after joining the franchise in March following 20 seasons with the New England Patriots.
Brady now owns a 7-3 record all-time in the NFL's biggest game and surpassed his own previous record for most Super Bowl wins by a quarterback (6) set in February 2019. The 43-year-old also broke his own record as the oldest quarterback to both start and win a Super Bowl also set in 2019.
Sunday's win was Tampa Bay's second Super Bowl victory in franchise history. The Buccaneers are also the only team in NFL history to both host and win a Super Bowl in their home stadium.
