The Dallas skyline will go dark Monday night in an attempt to help conserve energy as millions of Texans are still without power.
Some residents have been without power since 1am Monday morning.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson tweeted that the Downtown Dallas, Inc. is asking downtown buildings to turn off their external lights Monday night to help conserve energy.
So what's happening?
Controlled power outages were initiated by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). They have described the outages as a "last resort to preserve the reliability of the electric system as a whole."
