Woman Arrested After Allegedly Hitting Officer With Stolen Car In Hillsboro

A woman was taken into custody Monday (February 22) after she was caught on camera allegedly hitting a police officer with a stolen car in Oregon, according to KPTV.

On February 6 around 11:30 a.m., Hillsboro police were called to a car parked near a store on the 11170 block of Northeast Evergreen Parkway, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Officers came to check on a woman, later identified as 37-year-old Linsey Gail Perry in the car, but they learned the vehicle was stolen out of Portland back in January, deputies said.

Authorities tried taking Perry out of the car to arrest her, and that's when she started backing up, officials said. The driver's side door was reportedly open and struck an officer while the car moved. Deputies added that the officer was "smashed against a parked car" and "thrown into the air."

Officials said Perry drove away from the scene after hurting the officer. The stolen car was found abandoned in Beaverton later that day, according to the sheriff's office. "That officer was taken to an area hospital, treated, and released. He is expected to make a full recovery," deputies said.

Portland police arrested Perry on multiple charges, including second-degree assault, assault of a peace officer, felony attempt to elude, DUII, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and both felony and misdemeanor charges of failure to perform the duties of a driver.
