Authorities said a 14-year-old boy drove a stolen vehicle and crashed it into a parked car in Washington, according to KOMO.
Kennewick police said a vehicle was taken at a home in the 400 block of East 8th Place Friday night (February 26). The owner of the vehicle was leaving for work but she forgot something inside her home, officers said. When she returned to her vehicle, she reportedly saw it backing out of the driveway.
Officers responded and found the vehicle moments later, according to reporters. A chase ensued, and during the pursuit, the teenage driver attempted to turn at 8th and Gum but ended up crashing. Police said the driver hit a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home.
The 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody and booked into a juvenile detention center. He faces charges of auto theft and felony eluding.
A group of teenagers took an ambulance on a short joyride recently in California. Last month, a 16-year-old carjacked someone at gunpoint in Chicago, Illinois.
