There's A $2 Million Bounty For Catching Bigfoot In Oklahoma

There's now a $2.1 million bounty for anyone who catches Bigfoot in Oklahoma. The rules are that you have to bring in the legendary creature alive, you can't break any laws while capturing Bigfoot, and you can't injure anyone.

The bounty started when Oklahoma state Rep. Justin Humphrey introduced in January a bill to create a Bigfoot hunting season. Humphrey originally suggested that the state put up a $25,000 bounty for the live capture of Bigfoot.

A Hollywood Bigfoot film pledge $2 million while a private business promised another $100,000, the Enid News & Eagle reported.

Humphrey was semi-serious when he proposed a Bigfoot hunting license earlier this year. He's not a Bigfoot believer, but he wanted to promote local tourism.

"There are a lot of people, who really, really believe in Bigfoot and so it is going to give them the opportunity to come down. We want to make it a real deal. You can have a license. You can get out there and hunt this thing. I want to be really clear that we are not going to kill Bigfoot. We are going to trap a live Bigfoot. We are not promoting killing Bigfoot. We are promoting hunting Bigfoot, trying to find evidence of Bigfoot," he told The Oklahoman in January.

More recently, the Oklahoma lawmaker said he wants the state to have fun with the idea while money from Bigfoot-related tourism should be used to maintain state parks, roads, and lakes.
