A little happiness goes a long way, especially nowadays.
For the first time since 2007, the average person's stress level to increase significantly, according to the American Psychological Association. Researchers said that's thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, it's vital that people can boost their happiness in any way they can, whether that's through work, activities or friends and family.
Where you live can also affect how happy you are, as well. WalletHub conducted a study to see which American cities can make you feel as bright as the sun, and which ones are more likely to bring you down. Analysts looked at factors like depression rate, income growth and leisure time.
Out of over 150 cities in the U.S., 11 Florida cities made it on the list! Cape Coral was the highest ranking city representing the Sunshine State, coming in the No. 31 spot. Here's where the other Florida cities ranked:
- Port St. Lucie (No. 53)
- Pembroke Pines (No. 65)
- Tallahassee (No. 80)
- Tampa (No. 86)
- Fort Lauderdale (No. 90)
- St. Petersburg (No. 109)
- Jacksonville (No. 111)
- Orlando (No. 121)
- Miami (No. 130)
- Hialeah (no. 158)
Tallahassee got a nod from researchers for being one of the cities with the fewest work hours. Hialeah, on the other hand, got dinged for having one of the lowest sports-participation rates.
