Thousands of visitors are already back in the casinos trying their luck at wining big, reported the NY Post.
Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak signed a "Roadmap to Recovery" on Friday that has allowed casinos to expand capacities from 35 percent to 50 percent.
The news of the increase brought out tons of visitors over the weekend, even before the capacity increase took place.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal stated that "only masks and social distancing signs made it clear it was not like any other year."
Laura Amendala, a 55-year-old Las Vegas resident, told the paper, "I took a few pictures to send to my son in Chicago, and I said, 'I can't believe there are this many people out.' "
She said one casino was already full. She explained, "I couldn't even get into the Bellagio parking lot to see the botanical garden. It was filled to capacity."
Casino-goers posted photos to social media all weekend, showing shoulder-to-shoulder crowds at various local spots.
Most photos show visitors wearing masks.
Amendala said, "It's scary just because mask compliance is an issue."
According to health officials, Nevada had 222 additional COVID-19 cases on Sunday, and one new death.
