Over 3 million Washington residents became eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, according to KING 5.
This is because the state has just entered Tier 2 of Phase 1B of their vaccine rollout plan, five days earlier than originally planned, reporters said.
Here are the people who can get vaccinated in the state, starting Wednesday, March 17:
- Employees in certain congregate settings, such as grocery stores, agriculture, corrections, transit and law enforcement
- People age 16 years and older who are pregnant or have a disability that puts them at high risk
As of March 13 this year, over 1.56 million people have been vaccinated in the state, KING 5 reported. So far, 11.94% of Washington's population has been fully vaccinated, and more than 20% has gotten at least one shot, according to the Washington State Department of Health's COVID-19 data dashboard.
There's an online tool set up for Washington residents to check their vaccine eligibility.
