VIDEO: Man Repeatedly Harasses Sacramento Firefighters On Emergency Calls

Sacramento firefighters have been dealing with a new challenge during emergency calls.

A man has been confronting fire crews while they're responding to emergency calls, reports CBS13.

The man usually hurls insults and intimidates them. The video shows the man confronting the firefighters up close and taunting them.

"It's extremely concerning to us," Roberto Padilla, a spokesperson with Sacramento Area Firefighters 522, told CBS13.

The firefighters union spokesman told CBS13 that the same man has confronted them on multiple occasions.

"He's antagonizing people, he's insulting them, he's trying to get a rise out of them," said Padilla. "That's not acceptable behavior."

"I would like to know what motive is," Walt White, a Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District board member told CBS13.

White is also a former Sacramento Fire chief and says the man's harassment seems unprovoked.

"It's unfortunate that you have somebody out there who's looking to incite them," he said. "The crews conducted themselves professionally, kept their focus on their patients."

According to CBS13, the man has a Youtube account where he posts videos of firefighters and police officers.

"Public safety, for lack of better words, is under attack by certain people and it's viewed as possibly the enemy when the reality is firefighters, we're here to help the community," said Padilla.
