The Colorado House of Representatives passed a statewide transportation package that invests over $5 billion into Colorado's infrastructure.
The billions will be invested into the state over the next 11 years, reports CBS4.
The House passed the measure on Wednesday morning (June 2).
Some of the bill's goals include reducing road congestion and improving air quality. This means more money would go toward roads and bridges while providing funding for more electric vehicle charging stations.
It also calls for fees to be placed on delivery drivers like online retailers and pizza places. Additional fees will also be added to gas prices.
According to the bill's sponsors, the 11-year plan will allocate $3.8 billion from new user revenue and $1.5 billion in state general fund revenue and stimulus funding.
The bill still has one more step before it lands on Governor Jared Polis' desk.
After being passed by the Colorado House of Representatives, the bill will head back to the Senate with revisions before being sent to Gov. Polis.
