A man scaled a 300-foot metal tower at Knotts Berry Farm on Saturday night (July 17).
At 7:30 P.M., officers from the Buena Park Police Department responded to the scene at the amusement park.
"La Palma between Beach and Western has been closed. Knott’s Berry Farm has isolated portions of their amusement park. Please stay out of the area while we work to bring this person down, safely," the department posted on their Facebook page.
According to Deadline, the man descended just after 9:00 P.M.
The man was taken to a local hospital for a mental evaluation after he came down.
According to Deadline, there was no information about the man's identity or how he managed to climb the tall metal tower.
After the incident, the park issued the following statement:
“At approximately 7:23 pm, Knott’s Berry Farm became aware of a male who had accessed an unauthorized area and climbed the Supreme Scream tower. Park personnel alerted local law enforcement and emergency responders who are now on site. The guest descended the tower at 8:55 pm and is now currently safely on the ground in police custody. No other information is available at this time. The safety of our guests is always our top priority."
