Houston's Fox 26 Houston, Steven Romo, has come out of the closet as gay and revealed that he's engaged to Fox Weather’s Stephen Morgan.

In a moving post on Instagram, Romo shared the announcements and decided to kick off the open letter with some thoughts about his childhood. "I grew up with secrets. My family fought together to hide that we lived in a house full of garbage with a horde of dogs," he wrote. "But what they didn’t know, and was arguably even more difficult, was that I had a secret to carry all on my own: I was gay and trying with all my heart not to be."

Elsewhere in the post, Romo admitted that he thought he would never find love — until he met Morgan, that is. "Before I met Stephen Morgan, I thought maybe this kind of love just wasn’t in the cards for me. That it was a journey I’d never take. But now I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. In my whole life," he continued. "I’ll soon be moving to New York City with the person I want to spend the rest of my life with."

As for their near future, the couple has plans to move to New York City, where Morgan has secured a job at the Fox Weather streaming network. He recently left his position at Fox 26 KTRK in Houston.
