A man sleeping inside his high-rise condo was shocked to discover that a stranger broke in and took several of his and his friend's possessions.

Joel Crouse, a musician in Nashville, noticed something was wrong on Monday (August 9) when he couldn't find important items he remembered leaving around his home.

"I was looking for like my keys and I was like 'huh that's weird,'" he told WKRN. "I don't know where my keys are. I couldn't find my sunglasses and I looked on my cameras like 'what happened?'"

That's when he saw a stranger walking around his Sobro condo, looking around and stealing items. What's scarier, however, is he was asleep at the time.

"He came in definitely while I was asleep. Kind of peeks over, looks and steals everything," he said. "He stole my toothbrush. My house soap too."

The thief also took a unique and beloved guitar owned by Crouse's friend, Todd Bond.

The two filed a police report, posted the video to social media and took to the streets in the hopes of finding the person responsible. They eventually located the man, later identified by court documents as Kirby Naylor, at the downtown YMCA after receiving a tip via Instagram. They confronted the man, who was still wearing Crouse's shoes, and asked him to take them to the other stolen items.

"He was very helpful after that," Crouse said, adding that all of the stolen items were returned.

Naylor was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary.
