Demi Lovato is back with a new episode of 4D with Demi Lovato. This week Demi sat down with beauty influencer and social media personality Bretman Rock. Throughout their conversation, the pair discussed spirituality and their non-binary identities.

While Bretman was taught to celebrate their identity growing up, Demi shared their experiences growing up in a less accepting community. As Demi got older, however, they realized their non-binary identity was something to be "revered."

Demi also shared their belief that there is a spiritual aspect to being non-binary. "People don't always understand because we're so forced and programmed to look at somebody and identify them as what we see," she explained. "We have both masculine and feminine energy inside of us all."

"I personally believe that when I came to a sense of feeling spiritually balanced in my divine feminine and my masculine side, that's when I was like 'yeah, I'm non-binary,'" Demi continued. "To me, it's a spiritual thing. It's not even necessarily a gender thing."

Bretman agreed with Demi's statement, saying they also feel non-binary because their "spirit is too different." They also added they feel they have "two souls" inside of them, both male and female. "I feed both of them equally," Bretman added. "Sometimes my masculine side comes over me more and I go to the gym. Sometimes my feminine side comes over and it's a full face of makeup. Ultimately, they both live in me."

Following the episode's release, Demi took to Instagram to call Bretman a "kindred spirit" and celebrated having "so much in common" with each other.
