Despite some legal fuss, Megan Thee Stallion's remix of BTS' hit, "Butter," will be released on Friday (August 27).
On Wednesday, the K-Pop chart-toppers announced the remix via the Twitterverse and the rapper was quick to share her excitement. "Y'all don’t even understand how excited I am," she replied, alongside a number of butter emojis. "Butter" will mark the pair's first collaboration together and sustain the track's staying power after hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this summer.
Hot Girl Meg's remix was up in the air until Tuesday night when a Texas judge ruled in favor of her request to release the remix against the wishes of her label 1501 Certified Entertainment.
Word of the remix arrives days after BTS had to cancel their "Map of the Soul Tour." Their label, Big Hit Music, released a statement via fan platform Weverse about the trek, which was originally announced in January 2020 and scheduled to kick off in April 2020. "Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS 'Map of the Soul Tour,' knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour," the statement read. "However, due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned. Therefore we must announce the cancellation of the BTS 'Map of The Soul Tour.'"
