This Chicago Restaurant Offers The Most Unique Dining In Illinois

Chicago has tons of restaurants to choose from, but it doesn’t get much more unique than one that serves an entire wild boar.

Or, if that doesn’t pique your interest, the restaurant also serves goat and alligator.

Love Food, the publisher that dubs itself “the tastiest guide on the web,” mapped out the most unique dining experiences in every state (plus D.C.). The end result is a collection of “quirky and unusual” eateries, from “a restaurant where diners can watch mermaids swim while eating, to spots inside old train carriages,” and everything in between.

The most unique one in Illinois is Frontier, which is hailed as a “whole animal experience.” With locations in Chicago and in West Town, the restaurant offers diners an opportunity to choose your animal (wild boar, goat, alligator, pig and others), make room for sides (five-cheese macaroni, salad, veggies and rolls), and “make it a party.”

Here’s what Love Food says about the unique experience:

“Sure, you've probably been faced with a whole chicken to tuck into at dinner, but what about a whole wild boar? Or goat? Or alligator? That's where Frontier comes in. Offering you (and a group of pals) a 'whole animal experience', this is a lesson in nose to tail eating. You simply choose your animal and watch as it comes out as the crowning centrepiece alongside four sides: mac 'n' cheese, Caesar salad, seasonal vegetables and buttered rolls. Customers say it's an ‘absolutely incredible experience.’”
