People have a new look at what the Hapeville Dwarf House will look like after completing its changes.
Officials shared a rendering on Facebook to show its 1946 patio, which was designed with the original building’s blueprints in mind:
“Historic Patio? Yes, please! We are excited to share a new space from the restaurant design, our 1946 Patio! It is perfectly positioned on the property, to show off the restaurant’s exact spot in 1946. The original building’s blueprints were used to recreate the beloved counter and stools. We can’t wait to see you dining there!”
The “Home of Chick-Fil-A” announced in April that it was officially closed to prep for its “new beginning…As one little red door closes, another will soon open.”
The Hapeville Dwarf House “is where it all began,” Chick-Fil-A notes on its website. “The classic diner is open 24 hours a day, six days a week, and offers sit down, counter and drive-thru service. Along with the classic Chick-fil-A menu, the Hapeville Dwarf House staples include a BLT Sandwich, Steak, Hamburgers and the famous Hot Brown, which is chicken mixed with cream sauce, cheese and bacon. Macaroni & Cheese, Collard Greens and Cole Slaw are also on the list of sides. For dessert, customers can order homemade Lemon, Chocolate or Coconut Pie!”
Chick-Fil-A adds of the Hapeville Dwarf House history:
“Founded by Truett Cathy in 1946, the Hapeville Dwarf House (originally named the Dwarf Grill) is the birthplace of the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich. It was in this restaurant that Cathy first invented the boneless chicken sandwich and asked his customers to taste test it for him until he perfected the recipe in 1964. More than 70 years later, the original Dwarf House continues to give customers a glimpse into the beginnings of the Chick-fil-A franchise, serving items from Truett's original menu (including hamburgers!) along with the Chick-fil-A menu.”
