The Vikings have secured a five-year deal with right tackle Brian O'Neill.

According to NFL.com, the offensive lineman is getting a huge pay increase with his five-year contract. While finishing out his rookie contract in 2021, he is set to make a base salary of $2.43 million with a cap of $2.75 million. However, once his contract extension goes into effect, he will see his salary jump up to an average of $18.5 million per year. NFL Network Insider reported that O'Neill is guaranteed to make $22.6 million upon signing.

With his pay increase, he is now the second-highest-paid right tackle in the NFL, just behind New Orleans' Ryan Ramczyk, who makes $19.2 million per year.

O'Neill became the starting right tackle for the Vikings in the middle of the 2018 season. So far, he has made an appearance in 46 career games with 42 starts as a right tackle.

The Minnesota Vikings tweeted out snippets of O'Neill during a press conference. One of the videos tweeted out was O'Neill saying:

"This is the most excited I've been about an offensive line here and hopefully we'll be able to see the results but we've got to go out and prove it."
