San Antonio, Texas, had a different type of criminal on the lam this weekend.
Multiple concerned citizens called the city's 311 help line to report two sheep grazing in an open field near Texas State Highway 151 on Sunday, September 19.
Officers with the city's Animal Care Services were sent out to corral the baaaad boys, but the sheep got spooked and took off towards the highway's access road, according to an ACS Facebook post.
The officers formed a "human wall" to keep the barnyard animals off the road, but they eluded capture once again by hopping over a retaining wall and on to the highway.
Police officers were called in to block traffic as animal services moved in to wrangle the runaways. The sheep's luck ran out and ACS officers were able to safely take them to the animal shelter.
“We’re happy to report they are back home without injury and apparently without stress....they went back to eating greens as soon as they got back in their pen!” said staff with the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services.
