Two students are facing disciplinary action after allegedly engaging in a “consensual sex act” on the grounds of an Atlanta middle school.
The incident reportedly came to light after a video surfaced.
CBS 46, which reports that an unnamed source said it happened during school hours in one of the bathrooms, notes that Atlanta Public Schools confirmed in a statement: “Atlanta Public Schools became aware recently of a video showing two Howard Middle School students engaged in a consensual sex act on school grounds. The students have been disciplined in accordance with the district’s code of conduct.”
Concerned parents of other middle school students told the local news outlet that the incident is “really scary,” and “irresponsible” on the part of supervisors of the students.
Atlanta Public Schools also confirmed in a statement to WSB-TV that the school district “will continue to provide safe and secure learning and working environments for its students and staff” at Howard Middle School. Officials also said that anyone who shares the sex video would also face “harsh disciplinary action.” A school district spokesperson added to CBS 46, however, that there is no indication as of Thursday (September 23) that the video has been shared.
