Candlelight Vigil Planned For University Of Utah's Aaron Lowe

A candlelight vigil has been scheduled for University of Utah’s Aaron Lowe, reported ABC 4. According to Salt Lake City police, Lowe was fatally shot in an early morning shooting in Sugar House on Sunday.

Members of the University of Utah campus and community are now invited to a candlelight vigil for the 21-year-old football player. The vigil will be held on Wednesday, September 29th at A. Ray Olpin Student Union on the southwest lawn. It will begin at 7:30 PM.

There will be candles provided for those in attendance while supplies last. The U on the hill will also be lit from 7 to 9 PM to mark the occasion.

Here is a list of all of those expected to speak at the vigil:

  • President Taylor Randall, University of Utah
  • Student body president Jess Wojciechowski, associated students of the University of Utah
  • Dr. Lori McDonald, vice president for student affairs
  • Athletic director Mark Harlan
  • Select student athletes

Lowe’s brother, Adron, told ABC 4:

“He was basically always the peacemaker. Every time you see him, he’s got the biggest smile on his face some days you’ll see him just walking around singing random songs.”
